Naughty & Nice
As the world’s most popular sloth (or so I tell myself), I’m on many prominent lists. There’s the A-list, which gets me into the hottest nightclubs. I’m on a lot of shortlists for high-ranking positions on boards of directors and the like. And, of course, I’m always part of Santa’s “nice list.” Santa also has a “naughty list” but I’ve never, ever been on that one. But I know some who
have been.
But this all got me to thinking – who would be on my version of the naughty and nice list. And it turns out, my list is pretty extensive and is a good way for you to decide who you should go see when you are in Billings. Here are some of the highlights:
Nice
Luke from the Yellowstone Art Museum. He and I go way back from when he worked for Visit Billings. You should definitely go check out the museum when you’re visiting, as I’m sure Luke is doing a great job. Maybe you want to take him a snack, too.
Khanthaly from Khanthaly’s Egg Rolls. This nice lady started the first-ever food truck in Montana and brings so many people happiness with her yummy egg rolls. You should definitely check them out and see if they have any with sweet potatoes for your old pal Winston.
Shae Dawson of Thirsty Street Brewing Company. Shae operates one of the stops along the Billings Brew Trail and always makes me feel right at home when me and Bert, my best friend bison, hit the trail.
Preston Boyd Moss. This guy is one of Billings’ earliest residents, so he’s not around anymore. But his awesome house is, and it’s now a museum where you can see what life was like in Montana all the way back in the early 1900s. Head down to the Moss Mansion and enjoy the beautiful Christmas trees and holiday decorations in this gorgeous historic home.
Charlie and Russell. At the Yellowstone County Museum, there is a two-headed calf named Charlie and Russell that you should definitely meet. You can even buy a plushie version to take home with you. But don’t leave before you check out all the exhibits that tell you what Yellowstone County was like a long, long time ago.
Naughty
Pabu, Red Panda. The bane of my existence, Pabu, came to ZooMontana and tried to usurp me as the most popular animal here. He’s not even that cool. There are so many other animals I would want to visit before Pabu. In fact, pretty much all of them.
Pabu, Red Panda. He also tried to take all the credit for Holiday Nights at ZooMontana, when the reality is that I oversaw the placement of the 10 million twinkling lights that bring holiday cheer to the Zoo.
Pabu, Red Panda. Stole my sweet potatoes. Allegedly.
All in all, I think my naughty and nice list is pretty fair. It may seem like I have a personal problem with Pabu. And you’d be right. So you’re best off just sticking with my nice list when you plan your visit to Billings.
