@Art House Cinema & Pub $9 Announcing the first Staff Birthday Pick to be playing at Art House Cinema and Pub this year! Kat Schoolitz has worked incredibly hard with us since we first reopened Art House upon completion of Phase 2 in November, 2023, and we are once again celebrating their birthday with a film of their choice! Kat made the excellent choice of having a special screening of German director Wim Wenders' incredible 1984 drama, PARIS, TEXAS! A truly profound character study and commentary on codes of masculinity and the myth of the American family, Wenders crafts an unbelievably potent drama that grips and pulls at every part of the viewers heart and mind as one of the best films of the 20th century plays out with stunning direction and acting throughout! Harry Dean Stanton stars as Travis, a nearly mute man wandering out of the desert with no recollection of who he is or was. Brought back into civilization and learning that he has been missing for four years, Travis attempts to find his footing in the real world, trying to reconnect with his young son who has been living with his brother in Los Angeles while the two begin to search for his missing wife. As stated earlier, Kat is an incredibly hard worker as well as a passionate film buff- come and wish them a happy birthday and tell them how much you appreciate them!
