Saturday, October 5th, lightning strikes twice at the historic Babcock Theatre, resulting in the reanimation of a legendary comedic spectacle! We are excited to say that we will be having TWO special screenings of Mel Brook's horror-comedy classic, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN in celebration of the film's 50th anniversary! A perfect pairing for our screening of FRANKENSTEIN as part of our Universal Monster Mash series this October, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN persists as one of the most memorable and charmingly unique comedies to come out of the 70s (or any decade!), full of great gags, interesting characters, and original set pieces from Universal's Frankenstein films from the 30s and 40s! Shot with the intent of emulating the look and feel of the horror films of yore, this spooky story tells the shocking tale of esteemed neurosurgeon Frederick Frankenstein (Fron-kon-steen) as he inherits the castle of his grandfather, the notorious Victor Von Frankenstein. Frederick believes his grandfather's work was insane, but upon finding his private library and all his notes, Frederick changes his mind. With the help of his hunchbacked servant, attractive lab assistant, and elderly housekeeper, Frederick aims to conquer death by following in his grandfather's footsteps!
